Wednesday November 10th, 2021

We start the day with our monthly Breakfast with Books. We'll be recognizing our readers of the month. Students have been working hard to increase their reading skills, putting first things first.

This picture fits perfectly for how it feels by the end of the day. We have multiple staff providing positive check in with students, offering a walk in the hall for a break, the take ten wall, redirection to shift mindsets, and more. It might not seem like much, but to a little human who is struggling, it is appreciated. Thought for today:

Friday November 5th, 2021

We have Friday fun today. Students have the option to dress as their future career. Some of our staff are also completing a virtual Leader in Me training.

As we prepare to start our annual food drive, this article is a great reminder of items that are often forgotten. All of the food collected goes right back to our students. We use the items to refill our school pantry. If any families ask for ideas, you could share this article. As mentioned on this list, spices are often not thought of. We have a diverse school and a diverse community. Spices could be salt and pepper to add yummy flavor to a dish, or even turmeric and paprika:

We shared with staff and families some nice recipe booklets that were from the Idaho Office of Drug Policy. They had great conversation starters and family ideas for cooking together. This article about strategies for overcoming challenges in a positive way is from that same office. There might be some ideas that you could use with students or ideas to share with families as they ask for suggestions:

We made it through grade level teaming. Something so simple requires many hands behind the scenes to allow certified staff just one block period to share, reflect, learn, and collaborate. A big thank you to those behind the scenes this week that took care of items, so certified staff could have this time.

Habit 1 is includes your mindset. It can determine your entire day. We talk about this often with students. Thought for today:

Wednesday November 3rd, 2021

We have teaming today for certified staff that work with students in grades K, 1, 2, and 5.

The flu vaccine is available for both students and staff today, starting at 1 pm. Students must have a signed permission slip. For staff, please make sure the office knows that you are interested so we don't miss anybody.

The day just flies by, life flies by- but truly- gratitude is everything. From special people in our immediate families, friends, and more- we have so much to be grateful for everyday. Thought for today:

Tuesday November 2nd, 2021

Today is election day.

We start the day with yummy cinnamon rolls. Please let people know who don't receive district email.

We start dental cleaning for third-fifth grade students. This is very helpful for both students and families. No need to have students miss school, no need to find transportation, and lack of dental cleanings can cause pain. It can be hard for students to focus on learning if they have dental needs. Please remember that students must have a signed permission slip.

Grade level teaming today will be occurring for certified staff that work with third and fourth grade students.
