Please remind children about the new walk and talk activity starting on Monday the 26th. This will be occurring on Mondays and Fridays. We have staff members who will be walking and talking with students starting at 7:30 am. Chilly mornings, but a great positive start to the day for kids.

A big thank you to everybody who assisted with the Thanksgiving lunch and the Title 1 family night event. The family night event had fun math, reading, and family games, and even warm yummy pancakes in the library.

One of my favorites during family night was Mrs. Easterling quietly putting together food boxes with families, from our school pantry, so families have food over the long break. A big thank you also to our school counselor for working with a community group so six families will have a yummy Thanksgiving meal over the break, even with hams and turkeys. Please let us know in the office if you have any students who could use a box of food for the long break. We are happy to call and check in with families.

Enjoy the Thanksgiving break with your friends and family. Thought for today:

Tuesday November 6th, 2018

We have Fall picture retakes today and fifth grade students will be attending the Fall arts on tour at CSI in the afternoon.

Please remember to vote today. Your vote does matter. We each bring unique experiences and opinions to the table and that is what makes voting so important. Instead of a few speaking for the whole, get out and vote so your voice can be heard. Instead of the mindset about voting against something, vote for something you believe in. We live in a great country that is inclusive and welcoming. We have much to be grateful for every day. Having the great privilege and opportunity to vote is one item to be grateful for. ASCD this month is all about teachers leading their own learning. We expect that of our students and we encourage that with our staff. If you expect somebody else to provide what you need, you will never have what you truly need. Only you know what you really need. As you learn and grow, sharing with others helps us all to learn. For reflection:

Find the interest that makes you jump out of bed in the morning. Sometimes it is something to work towards, like a goal, event, or special activity/vacation/travel. This thought is great for everybody, both students and staff. Thought for today:

A big thank you to Mrs. Nelson for leading a great parent class Thursday night about media safety. Our school resource officer ended with helpful tips. It was excellent.

We are into November. The weather has started to get colder, lost and found is growing, and we have fun family activities coming up. This includes Thanksgiving and Christmas lunch. We have a family note going home that has important dates for the next three months and a reminder about our Fall Title 1 family night. There will probably be a few more events added, but this note has most dates listed:
