We have a coordinator for our 21st century grant! Jenny Reese who was our special ed clerk last year will be the coordinator. Excellent! Please look for more information as we get closer to Open House. We will have students registering for the before and after school activities then.

Hard to believe school will start in just a few weeks. As you are planning and preparing, here is a great article to reflect upon:

I love this article! I don't know what we would do without our classified staff. You are so important in the lives of our students! As we go into our second year with the Leader in Me program, I am so excited to see the opportunity available for all of our students, staff, and families. Empowering others to be leaders is exciting!

Anne added the eighth habit on the wall across from her office, finding your voice. During the two week enrichment and during summer school this week, Harrison students have been pointing the new sign out. They definitely have noticed.

Do you shop at Fred Meyer? Do you have a rewards card? I have our school set up now for the community rewards. You can link your card to Harrison. You still receive all the same rewards, and in addition Harrison will receive a donation as well. Win win! The following letter has information, and the link to add Harrison on your card.

We've also had Target set up, but it hasn't been used as much. If you use their reward card, here is more information:

We finished the second week of the summer enrichment. The highlight was the family activity on the last day. We had parents and students shooting off water rockets on the front lawn!

Thursday is the last day of the summer enrichment with the 21st century grant. If you are able to, please join us on Thursday for the family activity. We are starting at 1:30 in the gym, and students will be sharing all their projects. You will love walking around and listening to students, as well as being able to see all the awesome projects. Think common core speaking and listening standards, with STEM.

We are still looking for a coordinator. If you know someone who would be great, please encourage them to apply:

First Week Summer Enrichment 2014

Tuesday July 8th, 2014

We had our first day of the two week summer enrichment on Tuesday. We heard students commenting over and over at how much fun they were having, and that it was different than what they thought it would be. I can't express how much CSI staff has assisted, very appreciative of them.

KMVT visiting during the afternoon piece at CSI. We had one young man try holding the microphone and talk to the reporter, but he became shy very quickly. Then we had Harmony. She is little miss social and did such a great job holding the microphone and answering questions from the reporter. Here is the video clip:
