1. Dr. Dobbs and Supplemental Levy
2. Upcoming Title 1 Family Nights in March and April- MaryAnn and Melissa
Student led conferences are quickly approaching. All of our students K-5th have leadership notebooks. Those are perfect to include with conferences, and it was very impressive to watch upper grade students use them during Fall conferences as they led their own conferences. Student led conferences are a great way for students to reflect on their personal goals, reflect on progress, share strengths, and identify areas to strengthen. Here is a great article about student led conferences, and it goes perfectly with developing leadership:

As we get ready for conferences, this is nice reminder about the focus for conferences to be student led. This is a great way for students to own and lead their own learning.

It was another hot afternoon at Harrison on Wednesday. We have two more warm days, and then it will cool off this weekend. Please make sure students are drinking lots of water. Dress lightly, but professionally.
Here is a great quote that goes right along with the Leader in Me, and would be great to share with students:

Picture Day! Yes, we even need staff to have their pictures taken.
Here is a great handout with tips for parent teacher conferences. There is a new handout each month, and I've been putting them on the school website under posts. This one for October has helpful tips that are great for any meetings, not just conferences, that parents/guardians have with you during the school year.

Anne took some great pictures of students reading in the library. These are first graders from Mrs. Moulson's classroom. We are growing readers at Harrison! I love the respect and rapport, the positive interactions between the students. We have great kids!
