Next week: Brand- Habit 1: Be proactive
As you might have noticed by the agenda this week, we are teaming. Learning from and with others is how we grow. The first quarter is ending and it's time to celebrate successes, analyze student data and work samples, plan next steps and interventions, and identify areas for growth.
This is a long article, but the theme is super helpful. Many of the ideas and language matches how we approach discipline at our school. It also is nice that the school mentioned has kids like our kids. For our newer staff: we have hard kids. For those that have been at Harrison for a while: we have hard kids and we've come a long way with how we approach challenging behaviors. Every school has students with challenging behaviors, but the approach is essential to turning behaviors around:
Discipline
The pictures this week include a young lady from first grade who loves her mentor. She looks for her friend at lunch and loves the the positive experience.
We've had students assisting with bulletin boards and painting. The picture with Mrs. Kelly enjoying her lunch, sitting back, and coaching is the ultimate goal. That picture is exactly our end goal: students leading at their school.
We have a picture of our readers of the month, second grade math learning and the fire department visit, and the first grade pumpkin patch field trip. That field trip occurred on the best weather day of the week and the student faces are priceless. Look closely at the boys synergizing and showing kindness as they assisted peers with climbing a mountain of hay, happy kids, and even two staff members going down the slide. Great pictures:
