New certified staff- Thursday is your day. We will be meeting at Perkins for breakfast at 7:00 am. No students this day, so no rush. This is always one of my favorite check in meetings.
We have pizza dinner for certified staff on Wednesday. It will be ready by 4:30 pm.
Pictures this week include preschool students attending their STEAM class. A big thank you to Donna and Christie for ensuring that our preschool students have a weekly STEAM and library/Media Center class. There is also a picture of third grade teachers participating in a math lesson study.
We also have a picture with our security aide discussing and reading the local newspaper. We need our students to see real life reading application. As we often say, leaders are readers. Who you are in five years, ten years, depends on who you meet, your experiences, and what you read.
There are also pictures from our monthly Breakfast with Books/Readers of the Month and our Spring Title 1 family night. Those two events were awesome. I love seeing parents walk into the lunchroom, they know the routine for the monthly breakfast event, pick out books, start reading, and then have a whole group of kids sitting by them to listen to the story. That makes the whole event worth it every month. The family event, well that was just awesome and one of our best turn outs:
