Habit of the week/Classroom leading morning announcements:

Kelly- Habit 3: Put first things first

next week: Schroeder- Habit 4: Think win win

We do not have the after school program this week. We need the classrooms for conferences, and the after school staff has training. We do have the before school program.

We have notes going home this week about ordering school spirit wear. This will be our only order until the Fall, and we'll be ordering for August back to school open house as well. This is a great time to order for staff. All orders, both students and staff, are due Monday April 9th.

The pictures this last week include Smiles 4 Kids teacher appreciation, and Mrs. Rodriguez was selected. It's always hard to hold surprises, and it was a much deserved surprise.

There are also pictures from our service leaders, kindergarten country reports, messy fun with Ms. Shea, and our awesome Spring Title 1 family night. The pictures would be great to share with students:

This is a great article about project based learning and Native Americans, and the ideas shared could be applied at any grade level:

Bringing Social Studies to Life with PBL

This is a great reflection from a student about social-emotional learning, leadership, owning behavior, the power and importance of caring and encouraging school staff, and reaching goals as students initiate their own solutions. Though the article is written about a middle school student, it gives great hope as we get the great opportunity to start much younger with students:

A student's Perspective on SEL

From that SEL article, there is a link to Rutger University's website that has great resources:
