Here is a great article about communication. We all engage daily with others and with teams. We also problem solve with kids daily when they have struggles with others, often with expressing themselves or a miscommunication. Great thoughts:

We have our literacy coach at our school today.
We have a staff meeting after school, in the library.
This is a nice article with suggestions for how to respond to difficult emails. Thankfully, we always have a staff member happy to process a situation, read a response before hitting send, or to reflect with after a situation- please ask and know that you have others eager to assist:

The day starts with the monthly leadership assembly, 8:05 in the gym.
The red ribbon theme for tomorrow, Wednesday, is 'We are absolutely paws-itively drug free.' Students can dress up wearing a school shirt, school sweatshirt, or even school colors. As our school colors are red, white, and blue- yes, even jeans would fit for both staff and kids.
Halloween is almost here. Thought for today:

Monday's red ribbon theme is dress like the 80's and then the red ribbon theme for Tuesday is 'I have the power to be drug free.' For our kids at Harrison, they love super hero dress up days. This should be a fun day to dress up. Also, remember that homemade is the best. We can usually help kids to make something that fits for the day, any super hero of their choice, so everybody can participate.
The staff meeting will start with American Fidelity visiting. The rest of the staff meeting will be our literacy coach leading.
Pictures from this week include our October leaders of the month and the Move a Thon. It was nice to see students encouraging each other:

Please help remind students and families that there is no school tomorrow, Thursday, or Friday.
When we start back at school on Monday, the red ribbon theme for the day is 'drugs are a fashion disaster.' Students can dress up like it is a 1980's school day. This could be fun for a lot of staff, as many were born in that decade or actually went to elementary school at that time.

A big thank you to everybody who assisted with the Move a Thon. It was a fun, positive event.
Today is picture retakes. We also need all of our new students to have their picture taken.
Tomorrow is the first day of Red Ribbon week. The theme for tomorrow is 'wake up drug free.' Students can wear appropriate for school pajamas.
