Weather with a bite has returned. The wind makes it feel even worse. So, it's time for our annual hot cocoa bar. Come mingle with your friends in the staff room during morning recesses and sharpen the saw with a yummy treat.

Pictures this week include activities from the past two weeks. We've had Breakfast with Books, Reading growth with Istation testing and the fun capes, interactive Science learning in second grade, and the arrival of Winter weather.
There are also several pictures from the after school program. That program gives our students such great enrichment and learning opportunities that they might not otherwise get to experience: visual and creative arts, leadership development, service, robotics and coding, speaking and listening skills with diverse groups, drawing, interpersonal and social skills, global learning, multicultural learning, cooking and healthy living, and more:

We have our monthly Leader in Me parent/family class tonight, 6-7 pm in the library.
Please help remind students and families that tomorrow is the last day for student spirit wear orders. For staff clothing items- please let the office know as well what you are interested in purchasing. There is a catalog in the office for adult options.

We have a great staff meeting after school, in the library. Everybody is welcome to attend. The topic is about assisting second language learners.
These are two great videos. The first one is about the importance of greeting students. Most classrooms have student leaders that do this every morning. We see a difference when students have a positive person, peer or adult, greeting and recognizing them by name. The second video is about mindfulness. We're always striving to help assist students with regulating their emotions. Social and emotional learning:
