Meetings/Reminders for the week:
We had a great Halloween yesterday. My favorite has to be a first grade student who was at the front window in the office happy and excited to be at school, as he announced that he was here for the party, at 7:50 am. We are on to Friday part 2. We have B group students today.
We start the morning with our monthly leadership assembly.
The new issue from Educational Leadership is all about early childhood education. Most of our staff members get to work with this important age group, starting with our three and four year old students. Covid has created a slight challenge to how we traditionally teach young children, but everybody has jumped in with creative ideas to ensure our littlest learners have a solid start to learning. Here is a short post that I think all of us can relate to:
Thought for today:
We have A group students today. I'm hearing people refer to today as Friday part one. Students get to complete learning first and then have light Halloween fun at the end of the day.
We will start the day with our October leadership assembly. We also have picture retakes today.
Honestly, we're all probably just grateful to have some at this point. Seems fitting with the Covid theme- Thought for today:
We have our B group students today. They have been missed. They haven't been at school for one week. Please spend a few minutes checking in with students. Their Halloween day will be on Friday.
We have our literacy coach check in today, via video.
Thought for today:
We have A group students today. When they return, it will be both Thursday and their day for Halloween. Please help remind students that the holiday will be mild this year, but still just as fun.

We have boxed individuals dinners for certified staff starting at 4:30 pm. Please eat where you can spread out, significantly spread out. You could even set up a google meet with your friend next door or down the hall.
Everything always works out. Thought for today:
We have the A group today. Please help remind students that they do not have school for the rest of the week. Please check in with students that you work with. Please make sure they have learning packets, any school supplies to complete work at home, a library book, etc.

Meetings/Reminders for the week:
We have one picture from our reader of the month celebration and a great picture of learning sight words during music. The rest of the pictures from this last week include several sharpen the paw pictures. We had two awesome afternoons that allowed both staff and students to have fun in a safe manner. We all needed the positive experience. You might share the pictures with students so they can see their friends and siblings:

We have sharpen the paw in the afternoon. We had a great afternoon yesterday. Thank you for helping to create great experiences. We all need positive fun activities right now, including our students.
As we end the week- Thought for today:
We start the orange plan today. It's going to feel different with fewer students in the building. Please help spread out students and update seating charts.
There are an assortment of new schedules to follow, like block/specials. If you have questions, please ask. For block, we are on week one of the schedule.
We start the morning with new faces. We have children of district staff in our building for child care. Please help them feel welcome.
We then have readers of the month being recognized during breakfast.
We end the day with a fun afternoon. We start the first session of sharpen the paw, for our B group students.
We then will have a staff meeting after school, via video. This will be a check in time, so bring any questions that you have.
Thought for today:

And then there is the wondering about our youngest students. Preschool and primary grade teachers/staff did an awesome job last spring as they led google meet check in opportunities. Here are a few tips:

Thought for today:
Everybody has worked really hard to provide meaningful interventions for students. We have had to teach differently this year. This has included more differentiation within a classroom, instead of going to another classroom. The article below might have an idea that catches your eye:
